Last Thursday, our Youth Mobilization team led a heartwarming and impactful Tech & Tea event at the historic John McKenzie House. The event was designed to support seniors and neighbours with various issues on their electronic devices. This community-driven initiative was open to all residents across the neighbourhood, aiming to bridge the technology gap and foster stronger intergenerational connections, while battling social isolation.
A Day of Tech Support and Fun
The Tech & Tea event was a great success, offering much more than just technical assistance. Attendees received personalized help with their electronic devices. Whether it was troubleshooting issues, learning how to use new apps, or setting up devices, our Youth Mobilization team was there to provide patient and knowledgeable support!
But the event was not solely focused on technology. Participants also enjoyed a variety of engaging activities that made the day truly special such as; board games, tea and snacks, and great conversation!
Making a Difference in Our Community
Events like Tech & Tea highlight the importance of community engagement and the positive impact of intergenerational support. The smiles, gratitude, and newfound skills of the attendees were a testament to the success of the day. Our Youth Mobilization team demonstrated that technology can be a powerful tool for bringing people together and enhancing their lives.
