June Volunteer of the Month

The Volunteer of the Month for June is Dahlia! Our volunteer coordinator, Lily, first met Dahlia last year when they were putting up posters and knew from then that Dahlia is a driven youth who is passionate about supporting her community! Dahlia has been a welcoming presence for our neighbours at the NeighbourLink Food Hub, Seniors Events, Newcomer Events, and more!

Dahlia reflected on her volunteer experience and said, "I never had the opportunity to volunteer before moving to North York, where I first learned about NeighbourLink at a school volunteer fair. From my first experience at the Willowdale Food Bank, I immediately felt a sense of purpose. My favourite part about volunteering with NeighbourLink has been the meaningful connections I’ve made with people of different backgrounds in the community and within the organization. Hearing their inspiring stories and seeing the smiles and the positive impact NeighbourLink fosters in our community with each event motivates me every day to contribute to the world around me. It’s more than just volunteering; it's about strengthening our neighbourhood and creating a support system that goes beyond individual efforts."
