Thanks to the Canada Summer Jobs Program, our team is growing! We'll be introducing you to our summer staff in the coming weeks! In these final weeks we'll be introducing our three Communication and Event Coordinators, Shiroman, Kinza, and Gavin!
Shiroman, Kinza, and Gavin have been actively planning out various events for the Willowdale community, ensuring that the events receive the funding and support that they need to succeed, making sure all residents can readily access these events. Some of their efforts in creating these events are by creating weekly programs for the seniors at Willowdale Manor, providing support for a Newcomer's Tea Event which hosts newcomer Ukrainians to Canada through a welcoming event, and currently, helping with planning out a Taste of Yonge festival here in Willowdale!

"Hi! My name is Kinza, and I am one of the Communication and Event coordinators at NeighbourLink for the summer! I'm currently a student at Western University, entering my third year studying Media, Information, and Technoculture. I look forward to meeting various people in the neighbourhood and learning about their unique stories. I aspire to bring joy to the community through the events we plan and provide a sense of hope to the under-resourced community members we cross paths with!"

My name is Gavin, a recent graduate from the University of Toronto’s Architectural Studies program, and I am excited to be working as NeighbourLink’s Communications and Events coordinator this summer! I hope to make an impact on the community through planning and coordinating various events, ensuring that they provide ample opportunities for all groups and ages to engage and interact with each other in positive ways."
